I got off my ass after work to move stuff around the garage and make it so that one could at least walk through it. Along the way I found a bunch of things that should’ve been taken up to other parts of the house, which reduced the number of boxes and bags in the garage by a not large but perceptible amount. By around 7:45pm things looked good enough that I figured that I could clear space for the cars, so I did. Thus, the cars are now stored inside a garage for the first time since we bought them. Yaaayyy *wave tiny flags*.
And that's what it looks like without the cars. There's more work to be done, of course. I need to reassemble the shelving units, which will help a lot in organizing the garage even further and provide a home for my tools. There is also a multitude of items, things, objects, and various tchotchkes that we need to sort out. Probably half of the stuff will end up in a thrift store or the garbage bin.

Good job! That is a grade-A car-hole without a doubt. Nice purple NB Miata too. Good luck on finishing unpacking. At least you probably don’t have too much else to do in the meantime.

The comment from one of the guys who helped with the move was "who's gonna live in the garage?"

Thanks! I still have my day job so house stuff has to go on the back burner during weekdays, but things have been progressing well. We'll sort the packages in the garage this weekend, which will free up all the spaces for the shelves.

I recently went through similar, moved, lost garage, rebuilt garage roughly the same size, but laid out different, including a heated shop (Yay!) that also will be used for over capacity seating at family gatherings. This latter purpose (and to no small extent my Mrs. glemon and her feeling about how said shop/party room should be laid out) made me rethink the whole toolbox and pegboard setup I had before.
It was a royal pain in the ass, but once done I was happy, and I know where most everything is, because I planned/o rganized it and put it away.
Anyway, you have a great opportunity to organize to functional space, have fun.

I’m considering either building a proper workbench with a pegboard panel in the back or mounting a pegboard overlay on the wall. Either way will be better than these things the PO did:
I am leaning to calling these "fucking hooks", 'cause they fuck up the wall something fierce. They don't even hold loads well, and it only takes a modest breeze to knock them down.
